To Build and To Plant…

Welcome to the Boat and Table Workshop.

The workshop provides a outer place where we tend the inner place of knowing and trusting God’s simple and grounding wisdom.

Through the seasons of the year we offer spiritual direction and classes in christian spiritual practice, art, and hand craft.

I offer tools, toys, furniture, and nut trees for sale, fruit of time in the shop and garden.

In 2024, I’ll offer shares from my large vegetable garden.

You can enjoy weekly fresh offerings, available for pick up Tuesday mornings or Wednesday evenings.

And I invite you to visit for workshop hospitality.

Stop by Wednesday evening from 5-7pm for a snack, conversation, prayer, reading, woodworking, printmaking and drawing.

For other times, call or email ahead.

May peace become a little more palpable as you renew your tending of others and the earth, learning and working with your hands.

“…And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands…”/ “καὶ φιλοτιμεῖσθαι ἡσυχάζειν καὶ πράσσειν τὰ ἴδια καὶ ἐργάζεσθαι ταῖς χερσὶν ὑμῶν,”

Workshop Theology

Evermore give us this bread!

Mr J reminds us

“Thou shalt not muzzle the ox

whilst it treads out the grain.”

Receive and give…

The Boat and Table is trying to offer practical spiritual accompaniment.

Workshop hospitality, invitations to prayer, classes and project-based learning, tree seedlings, “workshop theology,” and the monthly newsletter are all available for free or cheap!

Your financial support helps me keep the time and place open for workshop hospitality, and contemplative, practical ways ‘to build and to plant’.

Did I mention I keep dog treats on the workbench for canine visitors?
